Group Hoopers

"I would highly recommend Hoopers, Julia is a knowledgeable and friendly lady who has a lot of patience not only with the dogs but their owners too! Hoopers has helped my dog follow instructions and also listen to commands whilst out and about and she loves going."

Hoopers 1-1

"Am so glad we found Julia through a mutual friend, having a reactive dog attending a class is not an option, but Julia was happy to offer us 1-1 for Hoopers and it's been great. Toby loves his sessions and gets to exercise his very bright brain, she has infinite patience with me, I'm a slow learner. We've gradually built up to sequences and have had such great fun on the way, Julia reads Toby's body language way better than I can so he never has a bad experience. Can't recommend her highly enough and Toby is eagerly awaiting his next set of sessions"

"I started Hoopers with Julia when my Jack Russell Dot was about 18 months old.  We both really enjoyed the classes and we both learnt some great skills that I still use every day.  Dot clearly enjoyed the mental stimulation and was always excited to see Julia who has such a great rapport with the dog"

Back to Basics 1-1

"I highly recommend Canine Magic , Julia Shimwell is brilliant, her one to one classes have been fantastic , dealing with a variety of issues that I have with my loveable but very reactive whippet x Bedlington terrier, incorporating very effective fun sessions with games and strategies that have helped greatly dealing with pulling, recall, keeping Rubén’s attention to help with his barking and excitement on walks."

Group Hoopers and Back to Basics 1-1

“ I started Hoopers last year with Julia. I took Pepper my 13 year old Springador who is very steady but I thought it would be lovely for her do some different exercise which would suit her age as Hoopers is low impact. I also have Ruby who is a 2 year old Springer whose recall and heel work is not the best. After a few Hoopers sessions with Pepper it was obvious that she was going through the motions and the rewards but this was not her thing so I discussed with Julia about swapping Pepper out for Ruby and the concerns I had with her. Julia was so knowledgeable and supportive that she gave me the confidence to give Ruby a go. Well, she loved it and although not perfect, she and I started learning together and having fun. The skills help with communication between me and Ruby. Julia is very good at thinking on her feet and offering different methods to get the most out of your dog. Ruby and I have had a 1-1 to concentrate on the ongoing issues with recall and walking to heel and again Julia has the skills and knowledge to give you the confidence to keep you going, even on the frustrating days. Highly recommended.”
